It has been 43 years since Senator Gaylord Nelson rallied the nation to celebrate the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, and now this important day is honored by countless people in over 190 countries. And much more than just a day to plant flowers and hug trees, Earth Day serves as a reminder to us all of the importance of preserving our natural resources and protecting our environment—after all, this Earth is the only one we’ve got.

We urge you to take some time today to take a look at your ecological footprint and think of all the little things that you can do to minimize it—be it carpooling to work, eating more locally sourced food, or recycling your old cell phones.
